Sterling Silver pendant in guilloche pattern. Done in glass vitreous enamel. On the back is adorned with dark blue sapphire. Guilloche was done by us on the rose engine machine on the fine silver which was then covered with blue transparent Japanese enamel in a few layers and then fired in the kiln.
It is about 1.25 in in diameter. Comes with 18" sterling silver chain.
Vitreous enamel, also called porcelain enamel, it's when material made by fusing powdered glass to a substrate by firing. The powder melts in the special kiln at 1500 degree F, flows, and then hardens to a smooth, durable vitreous coating.
