This very colorful necklace made in fine silver with glass enamel in cloisonne technique.
Vitreous enamel, also called porcelain enamel, it's when material made by fusing powdered glass to a substrate by firing. The powder melts in the special kiln at 1500 degree F, flows, and then hardens to a smooth, durable vitreous coating. Don't be fooled with cold enamel (resin), which doesn't require firings in the kiln.
This is large pendant. It is approximately 50 x 35 mm. Sterling silver chain is about 18" long.
